Formal Probate in Colorado when appointed as the Personal Representative in Colorado for Best Friend

She had to go through formal probate in Colorado because she had the original will, which was inspected and verified by the Denver probate court, but since the will was only signed by the decedent and not notarized, she was told it would have to go through the formal probate process in Colorado.  If the original will had been notarized, it could have gone through the informal probate process.
